Netscape

Netscape Navigator Settings

To set up your new Netscape Navigator, please enter the following: (Note: all settings are case sensitive)

  1. Setting A Start Page
    • at the top of the Netscape screen, click on "Options"
    • on the menu that opens, click on "General Preferences"
    • click on the tab that says "Appearance"
    • this page allows you to specify how your Netscape starts up. If you would like StoneMedia's web site as your Start or Home page
    • enter: "Browser Starts With:" http://www.stonemedia.com
    • click "OK"
  2. Mail and News Preferences
    • at the top of the Netscape screen, click on "Options"
    • on the menu that opens, click on "Mail and News Preferences"
    • click on the tab that says "Servers" and enter the following information:
      • Outgoing Mail(SMTP)Server: stonemedia.com
      • Incoming Mail(POP3)Server: stonemedia.com
      • POP3 User Name: yourusername
      • News(NNTP)Server: news.stonemedia.com
    • without clicking OK, click on the "Identity" tab and enter the following information:
      • Your Name: , this is case sensitive
      • Your Email: username@stonemedia.com
      • Reply-to Address: same as your email address
    • click OK

Netscape Communicator Settings

To set up your new Netscape Communicator, please enter the following: (Note: all settings are case sensitive)

  1. Setting A Start Page
    • at the top of the Netscape screen, click on "Edit"
    • on the menu that opens, click on "Preferences"
    • on the left side, click on "Navigator"
    • this page allows you to specify how your Netscape starts up. If you would like StoneMedia's web site as your Start or Home page
    • enter: "Location:" http://www.stonemedia.com
  2. Mail and News Preferences
    • at the top of the Netscape screen, click on "Edit"
    • on the menu that opens, click on "Preferences"
    • on the left side, under Mail & Groups, click on "Identity" and enter the following:
      • Your Name:
      • Your Email Address: username@stonemedia.com
    • under Mail & Groups, click on "Mail Server" and enter the following:
      • Mail Server User Name:
      • Outgoing Mail(SMTP)Server: stonemedia.com
      • Incoming Mail Server: stonemedia.com
    • under Mail & Groups, click on Groups Server and enter the following:
      • Discussion Groups(News)Server: news.stonemedia.com
    • click "OK"
