Pegasus Mail: Single User

  1. Because you clicked the first button on the Setting up mailboxes dialog box (indicating that your intention is to configure Pegasus Mail for a single account), the Setup information dialog box appears.

This dialog box is asking you to specify the directory where your mail-related files should be stored. Pegasus Mail allows you to store your mail-related files in a directory unrelated to the directory where the executable files are stored. The default directory is C:\PMAIL\MAIL.

If while installing Pegasus Mail, you chose to put Pegasus Mail in a directory other than the default C:\PMAIL, you may wish to change the default directory name. For example, if you installed Pegasus Mail to C:\PROGRAM FILES\PMAIL, you may want to name the directory for the mail-related files C:\PROGRAM FILES\PMAIL\MAIL.

  2. When you are satisfied with the name of the directory, click the OK button. The Windows 95 Users dialog box appears.
  3. Read the contents of the Windows 95 Users dialog box and note it for future reference. Click the OK button. The Using WINSOCK.DLL dialog box appears.
  4. Click the Yes button. The Pegasus Mail Options and Preferences Settings dialog box appears.
  5. Type stonemedia.com in the POP3 host field.
  6. Type your StoneMedia username in the User name field.
  7. Type your StoneMedia Password in the Password field.
  8. Type stonemedia.com in the SMTP field.
  9. Click the OK button. The Pegasus Mail Options and Preferences Settings dialog box disappears and the Pegasus Mail main screen is revealed underneath.

The configuration of Pegasus Mail for a single account is complete. You are now ready to begin using Pegasus Mail.
