StoneMedia's acceptable use policy:By paying a fee and using StoneMedia a VVM Inc. company as their Internet Service Provider (ISP) users are deemed to be in agreement with the following policies: 1) Basic PPP users have unlimited Internet access, except as otherwise noted. Unlimited access is defined as being connected and actively engaged in legitimate activity. 2) Users are permitted only ONE simultaneous dial-in. You may use only ONE of our modem lines at a time unless other arrangements have been made. 3) Access to Stonemedia.com via Telnet is not permitted. Shell accounts are not available. 4) Connections to our system which have been idle for more than 30 minutes will be disconnected without warning. 5) Users may dial into any of our access numbers. 6) UNSOLICITED MASS EMAIL ("SPAMMING") IS NOT PERMITTED. StoneMedia users sending unsolicited email to multiple recipients (StoneMedia or non-StoneMedia addresses) WILL have any and all accounts with StoneMedia IMMEDIATELY TERMINATED. 7) StoneMedia reserves the right to terminate or suspend your account without notice for any activity deemed unreasonable by Management or System Administration staff. Such activity may include (but is not necessarily limited to):
a. Security violation, defined as unauthorized access of this or any other system using your StoneMedia account, whether proven or strongly suspected. 8) Usage fees are billed in advance and are due on the first day of the month. 9) Users may cancel at any time, without penalty. Usage fees already paid for any billing period are NOT refundable or prorated. 10) Violation of any user policy will be handled in the following manner:
11) Storage for Personal web page accounts is limited to 5 MB averages per month, and includes your home directory, file. Excess storage is charged at a rate of $1 per MB per month average, but is not guaranteed. StoneMedia reserves the right to put a 5 MB quota on users' accounts that persistently violate the 5 MB limit. If you find that you consistently require more than 5 MB of storage, consider upgrading your account to a Business Account, which includes an additional 20 MB of storage, among other features. 12) Recovery of files from backup due to loss not caused by a StoneMedia hardware-software failure is a $15 fee per 5 MB of files. 13) StoneMedia will attempt to provide the highest quality and reliability of service, but service is not guaranteed. Loss of data or service due to hardware, software, or other failure does not give the user the right to compensation, financial or otherwise. 14) All rates and access policies are subject to change at any time. Users will be given 30 days notice of change in user fees. Access policies are subject to change without notice, and take effect upon announcement. |
